Saudi Arabia, officially known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is a country located on the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia. Founded in 1932 by Abdulaziz Ibn Saud, the modern nation unified the four regions of Hejaz, Najd, and parts of Eastern and Southern Arabia into a single kingdom. Its history is deeply intertwined with the emergence of Islam in the 7th century, as it is home to the two holiest cities in Islam: Mecca and Medina. For centuries, the region consisted of tribal societies and was influenced by various empires, including the Ottoman Empire, before becoming an independent kingdom. Today, Saudi Arabia is known for its vast deserts, rich cultural heritage, and as the world’s largest oil producer, which has greatly influenced both its economy and its pivotal role in global affairs.
